The aim of this website is to have a place where I can share information about my research and translations. My field of research is mainly focussed on the activities of early Dutch sinologists (from the mid-nineteenth to early twentieth century), (the history of) literary translation from Chinese into Dutch and Dutch travel accounts to China.

In addition to that, I will also share news and links of my literary translations. Mostly I translate modern Chinese literature, including short stories, essays and poems into Dutch and English.

Since 2017, I have been working at the School of Foreign Languages, Shenzhen University. The courses that I teach are translation, Dutch language, and English writing.
